On the 2nd March 2022, Akara began a pilot trial of our UV disinfection robot in the Royal Hospital Donnybrook, a day hospital located in Dublin, Ireland. The robot will be used by clinical staff in the physiotherapy gym, rehab units, and the day hospital. The trial began with an introduction day where the staff was given an overview of the robot design and a detailed description of how the science behind the disinfection technology works.

Over the next week, the Akara team will be giving in-depth one-on-one training to each member of staff that will be operating the robot. The training will consist of a detailed demonstration of how to operate the robot, followed by training on how to best utilize the robot for maximum benefit.

Akara will continue to support the staff in RHD over the coming weeks as the robot is integrated into the workflow to provide safe breathing conditions for patients, visitors and staff.
