Akara wins top award for Best Application of AI in Healthcare

Akara is delighted to receive the award of Best Application of AI in Healthcare at the 2022 AI Awards in Dublin, Ireland.

This award recognises the positive impact that Akara’s AI-driven technology is having on the global healthcare system. Akara’s cutting edge disinfection robots use advanced sensing and AI to efficiently navigate healthcare environments, disinfecting surfaces in a time-efficient and safe manner. This technology has been deployed in healthcare systems across the world to improve the standards of disinfection, reduce downtimes and improve the efficiency of current staffing resources.

Chief Robotics Officer Niamh Donnelly, who leads the AI and machine learning team at Akara, said:

Dublin-based AI Premie, led by Prof Patricia Maguire of UCD, are using AI and platelet information to diagnose pre-eclampsia in pregnant women and received the award for ‘Best Application of AI to Achieve Social Good’. Terri O’Donovan of Janssen was awarded Women in AI Person of the Year.
